An aspect of shops that I find intriguing and miss when it's not there is traditional signs, such as the red/white striped barber's pole. I've noticed (in Reading, at least) that Pawnbrokers have no balls any more so was delighted to see some golden spheres in Rhyl. For extra value, the financial operations seem to be within what must have been a church at some time. Oh, the irony of it is delicious.
